"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is a force, alright, one that cannot be stopped. The 7th installment in the "Star Wars" franchise made another whopping $88,300,00 this weekend, bringing its domestic total gross to $740,265,583 and its global total gross to $1.5 billion. Sheer insanity. In a distant second was "Daddy's Home," the Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg comedy, which brought in another $29,000,000. A new entry to the top 5 this weekend was Quentin Tarantino's 8th film, "The Hateful Eight." After a strong limited showing during his special roadshow 70MM edition of the film, it enters the top 5 at #3 by making $16,240,000. "Sisters" was the #4 film this weekend, making another $12,580,000, and rounding out the top 5 was "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip," which made $11,800,000, bringing its domestic total gross to a mind-boggling $67,376,640 and has led us to question if we want to live on this planet anymore.
