Weekend Box Office Results: January 15th, 2016 - January 17th, 2016

"Ride Along 2" the first to dethrone "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens."

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" has been dethroned, ladies and gents! The Kevin Hart/Ice Cube sequel to their smash hit, "Ride Along 2," came in at #1 this weekend by pulling in a solid $34,040,000. Coming in second this weekend was the multiple-Oscar nominee, "The Revenant," which made $29,500,000. Finally, in third place was "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" which made a respectable $25,120,000 over a month out from its initial release date and $851+ million later, domestically. In 4th this weekend was the Michael-Bay directed "13 Hours," which has a positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which confuses us greatly because it's Michael Bay. It made $16,000,000. Finally, the Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg comedy "Daddy's Home" came in at #5, making $9,300,000.
