"Furious 7" Holds the Weekend Lead, "The Longest Ride" Gets Bucked
"Furious 7" maintained the #1 spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row
pulling in an additional estimated $60,591,000, bringing its total domestic gross
to a whopping $252,552,000. Paul Walker's final ride zoomed past Disney's latest fan-favorite film
"Cinderella" to become the highest
grossing film of 2015 thus far. The animated film
"Home" kept drawing in a steady number of families and held the #2 spot this weekend, pulling in another $19,000,000, bringing
it's total to $129,544,000. The latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation the
"The Longest Ride" finished in third in its opening weekend pulling in an estimated $13,500,000, which is about par for the course for Nicholas Sparks based films as of late. "The Longest Ride," however, was released in more than theaters than any of the past Sparks films and failed to do much better than its counterparts.
"Get Hard" and "Cinderella" finish off
the weekend's top 5.
