As Halloween approaches, families often look for a way to get into the spirit of the holiday.
Looks like our predictions were right, and entering the box office charts #1 this week was
"Goosebumps," which offers audiences just what they are looking for. Its family friendly frights helped bolster its heavily competitive opening weekend, making $23,500,000. Dropping to #2 after a couple weeks at the top was Ridley Scott's
"The Martian," which still managed to pull in a solid $21,500,000, bringing its domestic total to over $143 million. Opening at #3 this weekend was Steven Spielberg's Cold War historical drama
"Bridge of Spies," which earned $15,380,000. Coming in at #4 was the Guillermo del Toro directed Gothic romantic horror
"Crimson Peak," which pulled in $12,846,120 during its opening weekend. Closing out the top five this weekend was the other family friendly Halloween film
"Hotel Transylvania 2," which added another $12,250,000 to it domestic total of $136 million.
