"The Conjuring 2" scares its way into the top spot at the box office; "Warcraft" under-performs domestically

Scary movies are a dime a dozen these days, but "The Conjuring 2" is actually a good one. It claimed the #1 spot this weekend at the box office, pulling in a very impressive $40,350,000 in its opening weekend out. In second place is the game-to-movie adaptation "Warcraft," the second of three new movies this weekend, which made a disappointing $24,356,000. Overseas, this film has made an impressive amount in a short time, $261.7 million to be exact, so while it may have flopped stateside, its international box office will help it make its budget back. In 3rd this weekend was "Now You See Me 2," the magic-centered sequel, which pulled in $23,025,000 in its opening weekend. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" dropped to 4th place by pulling in $14,800,000. Rounding out the top 5 was "X-Men Apocalypse," which added another $10 million to its $136,374,195 domestic total gross.
