"BOO! A Madea Halloween" scares away the other debuting sequels to grab hold of the #1 spot this weekend

Madea is back on top again! Tyler Perry's latest film, "BOO! A Madea Halloween" claimed the top spot during the weekend of the sequels, raking in a pretty $27,600,000. "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back," the mediocre sequel to the sleeper hit from 2012, came in second place this weekend to the tune of $23,000,000. In third place was "Ouija: Origin of Evil," the far superior prequel to the 2014 dumpster fire original, which made $14,060,000 in its opening weekend. The Ben Affleck/Jon Bernthal spy crime thriller drama "The Accountant" took fourth place and added another $14.06 million to its $47,920,381 two-week domestic total gross despite bad critic reviews. "The Girl on the Train" rounded out the top 5 this weekend by adding $7,270,000 to its nearly $60 million domestic total gross.
Next weekend sees the release of the long-oft sequel to "The Da Vinci Code," called "Inferno."
