Is it possible for a plot to be both simple and incoherent at the same time? That's what it felt like when we watched "Demon Wind." It's a movie where every plot device possible imaginable is used to force a group of friends to meet up at a specific location to have them get attacked by demons. Word of caution, if you ever find yourself in an old, creepy house and there are words on a wall written in Latin, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, DON'T READ THEM OUT LOUD. Doing so will *always* unleash something terrible. In this case, creepy fog, demons, 19th-century ghost children, and other unearthly things are uncovered and come out swinging on the attack. There is a moment here when a woman gets turned into a doll and explodes into a ball of flames, and her boyfriend looks like he would be more distraught if he had just dropped his ice cream cone. It's rather impressive how indifferent he is to the fact that his girlfriend just exploded in front of him. All the acting is within that same range of mild indifference, but we're not really watching something called "Demon Wind" for its subtlety. We will say as longtime MMA fans, we were pretty stoked to see MMA commentator Stephen "The Fight Professor" Quadros here dressed in a tux doing magic tricks one minute and spin-kicking the heads off of demons the next.
"Demon Wind" isn't the best horror movie you'll ever watch, but it does have some fun, gory, murderous moments to pique your interest. Despite being a shlocky b-movie, it still holds some level of entertainment, however modest it may be.

We all like to help our friends out when we can, but investigating a 60-year-old murder house populated by demons might be where we draw the line. "Demon Wind" is written and directed by Charles Philip Moore, who has written and directed other films like "Blackbelt" and "Angel of Destruction." This story centers on a man named Cory (Eric Larson), who has recently had the uncontrollable urge to investigate the death of his grandparents, hoping it will shed some light on his father's recent suicide. Cory, his girlfriend Elaine (Francine Lapensée), and a group of their friends meet at the abandoned farmhouse owned by Cory's family to investigate the six-decades-old deaths. What they didn't know is that the farm is a dimensional gateway occupied by demons looking for fresh souls to collect.
