The time has come for Marvel's first female-led film to get released! Will Brie Larson's Captain Marvel kick enough ass to eventually defeat Thanos? We're not sure, but one thing we know is we cannot wait for this movie!
2) "Ash is Purest White" (release date: March 15, 2019)
3) "Us" (release date: March 22, 2019)

Nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes last year, "Ash is Purest White" is a Chinese romantic drama/gangster movie with tons of critical acclaim. We cannot wait to see this one!

Jordan Peele made one of our favorite movies of 2017 in "Get Out." Now, he looks to return to the horror genre with his sophomore directorial effort "Us," starring "Black Panther" stars Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke. The trailer for this movie has us hyped beyond imagination!
4) "The Beach Bum" (release date: March 29, 2019)

We don't know much about "The Beach Bum" other than who's in it, but that's enough for us to get excited. The poster and trailer promise a raucous good time, so let's hope that's what we get!
5) "Dumbo" (release date: March 29, 2019)

We are huge fans of director Tim Burton, but we were skeptical about him making a Disney movie (we don't count the "Alice in Wonderland" movies) since his style and aesthetic tend to be darker and bolder. When the trailer for "Dumbo" first came out, our worries evaporated. It appears that Burton is going to be the perfect person to bring this once animated story to live action.
6) "Shazam!" (release date: April 5, 2019)

The DCEU has been all over the place throughout the last few years. "Shazam!" looks to continue the trend started by "Aquaman" and bring some levity and fun to an otherwise brooding franchise.
7) "Pet Sematary" (release date: April 5, 2019)

We're not big fans of remakes, but the trailers for "Pet Sematary" have looked sufficiently creepy. We like everyone in this cast, so we're going to hope for the best!
8) "Hellboy" (release date: April 12, 2019)

We are massive fans of Guillermo del Toro's "Hellboy." We were skeptical when they announced they'd be remaking this series instead of proceeding with del Toro's technically-not-greenlit third film. Will "Stranger Things" star David Harbour do justice to our favorite angry red demon? We shall see!
9) "Missing Link" (release date: April 12, 2019)

We absolutely adore LAIKA Studios and are so, so, so excited to see "Missing Link." We're trying to stay in the dark about the details of this film, but if it's anything like LAIKA's other incredible projects, it's going to be amazing!
10) "High Life" (release date: April 12, 2019, limited release)
A24. Claire Denis directing. Starring Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche. Horror drama. We're in, baby!
11) "Avengers: Endgame" (release date: April 26, 2019)

Seriously, did you think this wouldn't be on our list?! This is one of our most anticipated movies of 2019, and it shouldn't be a shock to anybody! The anticipation is killing us!!!
12) "Long Shot" (release date: May 3, 2019)
Seth Rogen teams up with Charlize Theron for this hilarious looking romantic comedy that reunites a man with his first crush, who is potentially in line to be the next president. We're definitely going to be there opening day! Plus, have you read who is in the supporting cast!? What a roster!
13) "Detective Pikachu" (release date: May 10, 2019)
Pokemon is NOT a thing of the past! "Detective Pikachu" actually looks like a lot of fun. Ryan Reynolds may not have been our ideal choice for Pikachu, but we love him and have full confidence in his comedic abilities.
14) "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" (release date: May 17, 2019)
The first "John Wick" was a massive surprise to us. We loved it. The sequel was just as good as the original. Can "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" strike gold for a third time? We sure hope so!
15) "Ad Astra" (release date: May 24, 2019)
A space movie starring Brad Pitt, Ruth Negga, and Donald Sutherland?! Hell yes! That's all we needed to know.
16) "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (release date: May 31, 2019)
The trailer for the long-oft "Godzilla" sequel makes us cheer with excitement every single time we see it. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOohhh man, we're SO hyped for this one! The cast, the visuals, the effects, it all looks so damn good! Hopefully, it will deliver!
17) "Rocketman" (release date: May 31, 2019)
Taron Egerton sang an Elton John song in the movie "Sing," then starred with Elton John in the film "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." Now, he'll be playing Elton John in "Rocketman," the story of John's life and rise to fame. We're here for the EJCU (Elton John Cinematic Universe, obvs), plus, we love Taron Egerton, "Robin Hood" notwithstanding.
